Currency / Money Bali
The Indonesian Rupiah is the currency on Bali (Indonesia) valuta code IDR. Please take into account that in most shops you can only pay cash. Only in the south there are store chains where you can pay with your credit card.
Withdrawing cash, from so-called ATMs, is no problem. There are many ATMs on Bali.
Please take into account that from many ATMs you cannot withdraw large amounts of cash unlimitedly.
If you want to exchange cash, please be careful where you do this. Especially in the south there are many exchange offices that lure you with a higher exchange rate. At these offices it often goes wrong: commission is charged afterwards for exchanging the money, or an extremely cunning counting trick is used and part of your money remains behind the counter. It is wise to exchange your cash at a so-called authorized money changer.
